INTERMEDIARIES NEW REGULATION

The Portuguese Football Federation, following the new orientation of FIFA, published at April 1, 2015 the new Regulation of Intermediaries.

The new regulation creates the Intermediate Committee, composed by members of the Portuguese Union Players (SJPF), Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), Portuguese Football League (LPFP) and Nacional Association of Football Agents (ANAF), designed to ensure that all intermediaries recognized by the FPF offer warranties that are in full capacity to represent the players and clubs in the intermediation of negotiating employment contracts and/or transfers.

Since its creation, the Intermediate Committee has met twice, with a view the implementation of the new law.

In the process of selection and hiring, the Union advises the player to act with due care and shall, in particular, before the start of service delivery, confirm that the intermediary is registered in the Portuguese Football Federation and sign a representation contract in accordance with the Regulation.

LAW NO. 28/98

The Portuguese Union Players integrates the work Commission created by the Government, by Order No. 3932/2015, to review and modify the law No. 28/98 of 26 June.

The law No. 28/98 of 26 June, which governs the legal regime of the employment contract of the athlete and sports formation contract, will be examined with a view to identifying any gaps and misfits standards to current social sport reality. The working group has 120 days to present its proposal.
