The president of the Portuguese Players’ Union (SJPF) met last August 21 with the counterpart of the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP), in Porto.
Joaquim Evangelista and Pedro Proença, newly elected president of the League, analyzed some of the main problems of Portuguese football, especially unpaid salaries and the licensing model of the clubs, the role of foreign investors in the development model of Portuguese and football and the revision of Collective Labor Agreement, among other issues.
At the exit meeting, the SJPF President made a positive balance: “This meeting allowed us to identify problems and define a working method and a calendar. The idea is that the matters which concern the players, in particular, and football, in general, are object of continuous monitoring and at own headquarters.” |
