FIFPRO UNION IN CONGRESS

The Professional Football Players' Union (SJPF) participated in FIFPro’s Congress - Europe Division that took place in Oslo, Norway, on June 7th and 8th.

Joaquim Evangelista, the Union’s president, and João Oliveira, responsible for the Union’s legal office, represented SJPF in the grand meeting.

From the order of business, it stands out the analysis of FIFA’s current situation and the imminent changes of UEFA’s governmental bodies.

UNION NEXT TO MANUEL PALACIOS
Manuel Palacios, 23-year-old Colombian forward that in the 2015/2016 season represented Atlético, reached for the Union after the club didn’t fulfill its contractual obligations. The contract that connected Manuel Palacios to Atlético contained a clause in which it guaranteed to the player a returned trip to his country at the end of the employment relationship. In contrast to what was established, the club didn’t fulfill the stipulated terms and the player reached to the Union, that supported the trip back to Colombia.
