The uncertainty of the final score in a football game is the essence of the sporting truth, in ambassador Pedro Pauleta’s view: “The most important thing in a game is to enter the field and know that you can lose or win. A combined result is cheating and we can’t associate ourselves with it.”

SJPF’s President

“Match fixing is a phenomenon that carries factors’ that leverage risk. The salary’s non-compliance, the foreign investment, the effective financial model and the feeling of impunity are examples of this. That way, the FPF, as the leading soccer entity, and the Union, as the entity closer to the players, through this project, take a step ahead in fighting the phenomenon”.

FPF’s President

Fernando Gomes, FPF’s president, warned to the need of reinforcing the prevention of this threat to the sporting truth: “We bet on our athletes’, leaders’, coaches’ and referees’ training. It’s fundamental to do more in the prevention field. A concerted and effective action in fighting match fixing goes by gathering fighting means against a criminal action.”
