Veterans Council, led by António Simões, is the new advisory body of Portuguese Players’ Union and is composed by 11 top former players, references of Portuguese football.

The members of Council were sworn in at the National Sports Museu and will have an important role on the reflection about structural issues of football and support to players and former players with difficulties.

Football world was shaken up by the news of Davide Astori’s sudden death, Italian internacional and captain of Fiorentina.

Portuguese Players’ Union, through its President Joaquim Evangelista, associated to the mourning that reaches Italian football as a whole and sent a condolences message to Associazione Italiana Calciatore (AIC).
