The Portuguese Players Union, represented by João Oliveira, attended a hearing of the Sports Working Group in the Parliament to discuss proposals for legislation to change the legal framework for combating violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in the sporting events, as well as the regime of access and exercise of the activity of sports coach.

In addition to the Union, the working group received the Portuguese League, the National Association of Soccer Coaches (ANTF), the Portuguese Association of Football Referees (APAF) and the Portuguese Confederation of Coaches Associations.

The taxation of income of the players is subject to fiscal rules that vary from country to country, not depending on the free option of the holders of the income.
