In the end of 2019, Fernando Gomes announced the application to the presidency of the Portuguese Football Association (FPF), a position he has exercises since December 2011.

The federative leader has the support of the Players Union, for the work he has done in recent years to professionalize, develop and modernize Portuguese football, from his base.

The Union believes that Fernando Gomes and his team will continue to have the courage to develop a strategy that ensures a fairer system and capable of defending the greatest asset of Portuguese football, the players.

With the beginning of the new year, the transfer market reopens in most countries, and the registration period ends, in most cases, on January 31.

However, there are championships where players can be registered after this date and the Union inform about the deadlines.
