In Portugal, the football stakeholders and the government are discussing the conditions for the return of professional competitions (I and II Leagues). The portuguese union shared with the government, the portuguese FA and the League his positioning about the return to play protocol, following the FIFPro guidelines at international level.

The union clarified that players want to return to play, but they have serious concerns for their health. In the union perspective, it´s essential the approval of the protocol by the health authorities, before the return of trainings and, eventual, return of the competition.

In times of social distance and isolation, preserve mental health is more important than ever. In the new Editions of the magazine "Players", the union speaks about the issue and presents a full dossier about the subject, namely the study conducted in 2019 in the national competitions and the project developed with the support of the “portuguese society of sport psychology” and “national psychologists bar”.
